The New Story of Lingerie

It is said that 80% of women wear the wrong size of lingerie. And worse still, they are not even aware of it. While some may not read much into this, but wearing the wrong-sized women lingerie can have medical implications. Therefore, it is very important that women wear lingerie that is right in size for them. But before that, they should know how to correctly measure their breast size.

The size of women lingerie is determined by three factors, namely, the band size and the cup size, and the bust measurement. The band size is the measure of the under bust. The exact measurement also depends on the unit it is measured in. For instance, if the unit of measurement is inches, then the size of the under bust is rounded off to an even inch. But if centimeters is the choice of unit, then the measurement of the under bust is rounded off to the nearest multiple of 5.

The bust measurement is the measure of the fullest parts of the breasts, with the arms positioned at each side. These measurements may also follow the inch or centimeter unit.

The difference between the bust size and the band size is said to denote the cup size in women’s lingerie. The measurements are converted into sizes such as AA, A, B, C, or DD. Countries follow their own set of cup size measurements depending upon the unit they have been measured in.
